Communication

Bandwidth

As what I understand about bandwidth, it is the data carrying capacity of a network connection, it is used to indicate speed that travels inside a cable for interconnection of computers like LAN, WAN, and even internet. The speed of a computer is sometimes depending on the bandwidth because the bandwidth is the capacity of the computer to transfer data to other computer. So, if have a big bandwidth your computer performs faster compare to those computer that has a small bandwidth. And mostly the standard size of a bandwidth is 10 Mbps but if you have a big bandwidth, it is better.

Digital versus Analog Signals

A DSL is one of the example of a digital signal that directly connect to the server, the connection of the signal are continues and it is more reliable compare to analog because in digital signals there is only two language that a computer can understand and that would be 1 and 0 bit. While in a dial-up it has analog signals that needs to break it pieces first if its carry a data but after that it will return again as a whole before it will enter to a server. While in phone calls, an analog signal is being used, it’s use a voice frequency to identify message. It is also more complicated compared to digital because not only message can be heard by a device but also the environment.

Network Architecture

In Ethernet connection, most network architecture that we heard is about WAN, and LAN. This architecture create differences if pertains to use and functionalities. In a network that contained a single campus, LAN or Local Area Network is mostly used because it is only for a Local area. Like in a single campus in order that there will be network connection that everybody could use, one server is enough for many a lot of computer that will access for the entire building because a LAN connection is good only if it is in a single building. While the WAN or Wide Area Network it is good for businesses because it can connect from one country to other country or one building to other building. A WAN connection connects user to a remote access this would lead for a user in a one country to checks files or even configure programs. In a WAN, the applicable device here is the router because it can communicate computers and servers in far places and it will finds away of what would be the best path to pass data easier and faster.
